Neil Hague is a UK visionary artist, authorial illustrator, speaker and writer. Originally trained in graphics and book publishing, he was one of the founders of Bridge of Love Publications. His work has been described as 'neo-shamanic' by people who have heard him talk or who have seen his art.
He has had numerous exhibitions of his visionary work in London and his paintings have appeared on book covers all over the world. Inspired by native cultures, 'universal' symbols, archetypes and a love of nature, Neil often links and utilises these sources in his own work. In his 2002 book Through Ancient Eyes (Quester Publications), he illustrates a personal and fascinating approach to art and image making. His latest book Journeys in the Dreamtime was published May, 2006.
Neil is currently working on a Tarot Project and Graphic Novel (working title - Kokoro ), that encapsulates the story of creation with the 'themes and signs' unfolding in our reality as we go through a major shift in consciousness at this time.
"Earth is an immense institute of learning, with humanity enrolling here aeons ago. Some have said our teachers came from many planets and stars, not forgetting the Earth herself. In this great school not all teachers worked together, some of humankind listened to Earth, others bowed in front of extraterrestrial visitors and some slavishly followed man-made gods.
In this vast tapestry of teachings not all that was said has happened and events that occurred were not always mentioned. From the great school of life on Earth have come many schools of thought, sometimes educating, often enlightening, but mainly indoctrinating. Some told truths, others told lies and myths were created.
In this work I have looked twice at everything. I have seen the Earth from the inside and from the outside looking in. I have listened to the ist’s and the ism’s, to all religions and political systems. And through many complications, limitations and the vast smoke screens around us, only simple feelings held strong within my heart!
Real truths cannot be lied about-that is why love and creativity have passed the test of time."
