Through Ancient Eyes & Journeys in the Dreamtime Art Workshops
Through Art and MeditationWorkshops with UK Author and Artist Neil Hague
Neil’s books and Workshops explore the illusion of time and the ancient myths that encapsulate stories of interdimensional forces, hidden worlds and sacred places – as understood by Earth’s greatest visionaries. With over 10 years of research and teaching art, he illustrates a wealth of information that connects art to alchemy, and our DNA to so-called alien civilisations. From the legends of the Aboriginal dreamtime to the concept of The Matrix, Neil’s work takes us on a journey into the timeless realms of the imagination – to reveal the untold history of art.
"Our first teacher is our own heart" Cheyenne Proverb "Images derive from the fountainhead of human life, the heart, the solar centre, ancient memories in the blood and the polarity of the fire of the spirit." Cecil Collins The aim of the workshops and courses are to use individual creativity to express self-knowledge and true understanding of our multi-dimensional self. Art in its myriad of forms will be used as a tool to unlock the imagination. Each individual will be given the opportunity to nurture a knowledge and understanding of their creative abilities, and through this, tap into their multi-dimensional aspects.
The workshops consist of art-based exercises guided by visionary artist and author Neil Hague. All art made during the workshops will be produced initially through drawing and painting and primarily through exercises that come in the form of Doodling, Painting to Music and Looking Twice at what we call 'reality'. Neil will also give a group presentation on the nature of reality and how art is a universal language that can be used to lift the veil and present to the senses 'other worlds' that are just as real as the world around us. He will talk about the dreamtime, symbols, archetypes, historical artists, the human divine form and how the power of the visionary within us all can open our hearts and expand our understanding of who we really are and what we are capable of.
The Workshops will explore drawing from 'source' or painting from within. The day will give people a chance to both interact as a group and individually find personal pathways that stimulate the finer senses. As part of the workshop we will use myths, music, meditation and intuition to discover the invisible worlds of our imagination. Through our personal art we can learn more about the visionary, multi-dimensional personas and the invisible energies that construct our reality.
"As a practioner and artist I found that I was learning new ways of looking at the recorded image. In context to my own work it was particularly useful for me as a figurative painter. The course allowed me to relearn to use my imagination and create works of art that are more personal and Visionary. To summarize I got a lot out of the workshop and looking at your range of students everyone from the novice to professional learnt how to access their inner mind. Speaking for myself the workshop was a unique experience. I should perhaps add that I was impressed with how well students grasped the basic principle of drawing in such a short time. If you take time to compare work started on the first day with the finished paintings the results are quite astounding. Anyone thinking of doing this course should really go out and do it. Not only will you learn to unlock your imagination (professionals) included, but you will meet a wide variety of open minded people to share this wonderful learning experience. Thanks again Neil for taking the time to design and plan the course" Simon (Japan) Click here to see examples of work and see what others said about the workshops.
The Workshops use image-making to create an avenue for expression which has nothing to do with the idea of being a competent ‘artist’.
The imagination is the key source for understanding our subconscious mind, and when expressed through our creativity, it opens us to the multi-dimensional levels reflected in all life. According to Neil,
“The more we exercise the imagination and free the ‘analytical mind’ then a personal journey awaits us.” Through drawing and painting the workshops explore primeval imagery, symbols (archetypes), left and right brain activity, colour work and the spirit within each of us. Over two days Neil also explores ‘drawing from source’ or painting from within allowing individuals to find personal pathways that stimulate the finer sensory forms of perception we all have. Art made during the workshops will be produced initially through drawing and painting, primarily through exercises that come in the form of ‘Doodling’, Painting to Music and guided exercises. Through our imagination and creativity that comes from our personal connection to what the ancients called the Dreamtime, we can shape our reality according to the power we hold within. Through our personal art we can learn more about the visionary, multi-dimensional persona's and the invisible energies that construct our reality. Neil is an adept at inspiring and nurturing these energies within each of us and will present a visual feast in the form of a mini lecture as part of the workshop.
